Abstract Purpose: To undersrand the expression of tumor necrosis factor receptors on bladder carcinoma cells induced by interferon. Methods: The tumor necrosis factor receptors (TNFR) were detected on cultured human bladder carcinoma cells by radiological binding assay (RBA). Results: The results showed there existed TNFR in membrane of bladder carcinoma cells. The number of TNFR was increasing with the concentration of interferon(alpha or beta) and cultured days raises. Conclusions: It suggested that interferon can induce the expression of TNFR in bladder tumor cells to make TNF develop its function to kill tumor cells.
