Open operation for the treatment of complicated nephrolithiasis
after transientinterruption of the renal artery

Abstract:Purpose: To reduce bleeding in the nephrolithotomy and improve renal function of the patiens. Methods: Open operation was carried out under hypothermia after transient interruption of the renal artery for 73 cases with complicated nephrolithiasis. Results: Average bleeding was 180 ml in operation. Renal function of all patients improved after operation. Conclusions: The procedure was quite simple and complete removal of the calculi ease. Bleeding was minimal. Renal function damage could be efficiently avoided.
